POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Expense Management
●On a daily basis, audit submitted expenses/documentation to ensure compliance with client authorization and policies, procedures, practices and with international relocation tax laws
●Analyze, translate information, covert currencies and research submitted expenses to ensure compliance with client relocation policy
●Code all allowable expenses with correct GL code and cost centers to ensure compliance with client policies
●Communicate with colleagues and/or client pertinent to items to be reimbursed outside of client policy
●Prepare disbursements (reimbursement check, electronic funds transfer (EFT) or international wire transfer) ensuring currency conversion calculated correctly; mail/wire to assignee/account as instructed
●Maintain international disbursement-related process documentation
●Escalate problematic situations to management for review, recommendations and/or resolution
●Research and/or respond to internal or external inquiries pertaining to policy as related to expenses or billing
●Per client request, compile, prepare and maintain reports
●Non-routine assignments and projects as requested by Altair Management
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or
Equivalent combination of experience, skills, training and education
TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
● Minimum 2 years of international accounting experience in a high transaction environment
● Demonstrated understanding of international bank payment management systems and country specific payment processing requirements
●Able to understand international currencies/exchange rates and look up requirements as needed
●Able to use technology in effecting language translations, when required
● Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, Word and Excel; knowledge of AREV, Solomon and/or Great Plains, JD Edwards or other wide accepted accounting software is preferred; good keyboarding skills with the ability to input alpha/numeric data into various formats quickly and accurately
● Able to confidently communicate/interface with colleagues at multiple levels, with assignees/transferees, clients, and others dictated by job and business needs
● Unrelenting attention to detail and consistent excellence in accuracy
● Calm under pressure
● Deadline and time sensitive; strong time management and assessment of priorities
● Ability to make effective business decisions based on factual information using common sense and sound logic
● Fluency in Mandarin and English
